Love & Sleep: The Love & Sleep memory foam mattress is designed with layers of 2.8 PCF memory foam and polyfoam from the comfort layer. The support center is constructed from 1.8 PCF polyfoam. The Love & Sleep is offered in two firmness levels: Luxury Firm and Medium.

Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour: The Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour highlights a comfort system with three layers: a cover made of 2.5 PCF copper-infused, phase-change gel memory foam; a middle layer of 3 PCF polyfoam; and a bottom layer of 4 PCF memory foam. The support center is built with individually-wrapped coils and a high-density polyfoam edge reinforcement.

Hybrid Latex: The Hybrid Latex model features 1 layer of Dunlop latex in the comfort layer. The support core is made with pocketed coils and a bottom layer of 1.8 PCF high-density polyfoam. The cover is built with a blend of cotton and wool.

Latex Mattress: The Latex Mattress is available in ‘Blended Latex’ and ‘Organic Latex’ designs; these options share the same general framework, but differ substantially in terms of price-point with the Organic variant being more expensive. Additionally, the Latex Mattress is available in three firmness levels. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant features a comfort layer built from soft Dunlop latex, as well as a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This model is more expensive due to the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ uses a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ has a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.

In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are great mattresses, especially given the price.

Construction

The three varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with somewhat different densities and foams. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s intended to improve airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a soft texture.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in 3 firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally find they can obtain more hug and contour on softer mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, due to the fact that inner-springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers help the bed absorb motion to a significant extent. When I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you could not identify much movement in her body. She detailed that she could feel the movement, but detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still displays good bounce.

Sinkage

If you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position may be hard. Traditional memory foam usually caused a lot of sinkage that it made it hard to move around. However, if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.

You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam top layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you’d obtain with a more traditional memory foam bed as it is reduced by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of bed without too much problem. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not as striking as it would be about a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed experience.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to fortify its edges. This produces a level sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the perimeter of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at providing that solid base you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the coils begin. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this mattress is very supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils in its foundation. It is super effortless to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m wellsupported when I lie on the edge, a big advantage for sleep spouses.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The spring coils permit sufficient airflow, helping to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to prevent this frequent issue. This mattress is a good pick for those who need to rest cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of isolating and dispersing warmth, resulting in a sleeping experience that is marvelously cool.

Off-Gassing

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary odor when it is opened. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You can expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should fade fast.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest provides a 100 night sleep trial on the Alexander Signature Hybrid. Nest expects you to maintain the bed for at least thirty days prior to initiating a return. If you’re unhappy with the bed for any reason at any stage between 30 to 100 days, you can arrange to donate or return it for a full refund of the purchase price. Any delivery expenses will not be refunded. If you opt to go the refund route, Nest Bedding will arrange for the mattress to be taken and donated to a charity. You’lll just need to provide proof that the item has indeed been picked up and the organization will give you a complete refund. Amerisleep Vs Nest Bedding

Nest Bedding Warranty

The Alexander Signature Hybrid, along with the rest of the Nest mattresses, are covered by a limited lifetime guarantee. The warranty is non-prorated, which means the company will pay to replace or repair any faulty mattresses, however old it is. Along with the lifetime warranty, Nest also provides what they call a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, which is quite unique. Basically, when the trial period expires, if you abruptly decide you do not like the Nest Hybrid, the company allows you to exchange the item for a softer, firmer, larger or smaller version
