Moreover, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option has a comfort layer built from soft Dunlop latex, as well as a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This model is more expensive due to the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic structure, but with somewhat varying densities and foams. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is designed to increase airflow and helps with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This gives a soft feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people usually find they can achieve more hug and contour on softer beds.
Hybrids usually do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, because inner-springs permit movement to more easily move through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers help the mattress absorb movement to a significant extent. When I turned and tossed next to my partner, you could not identify much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel the movement, but it was minimal. Despite this, the bed still displays impressive bounce.
If you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position can be challenging. Classic memory foam often caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you’d get with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much problem. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not quite as dramatic as it would be about a normal memory foam mattress. This creates great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to fortify its perimeter. This gives an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are excellent at providing that firm foundation you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you could actually witness where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the bed abruptly ends where the spring coils start. Despite the soft foam top layers, this bed is impressively supportive, thanks to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its core. It’s super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lie on the border, a great plus for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, assisting to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to offset this common problem. This bed is a fantastic pick for those who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to emit a temporary smell when it’s opened. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should disappear fast.
