Moreover, the Latex Mattress is available in three firmness levels. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option features a comfort layer built from soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This variant is more pricey because of the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ has a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support center.

In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are exceptional mattresses, especially at their price points.

Construction

The 3 distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to increase airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This offers a soft feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people normally discover they can obtain more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids do not isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, because springs allow movement to more easily transfer through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers aid the mattress absorb movement to a significant extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my colleague, you couldn’t see much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel it, but detection was minimal. Despite this, the bed still exhibits good bounce.

Sinkage

In case you have mobility issues, moving around while lying down may be hard. Classic memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.

You will encounter some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you’d get with a more conventional memory foam bed as it’s reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of bed without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be about a normal memory foam mattress. This makes for excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its edges. This produces a level sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are great at setting that strong foundation you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I can feel and you could actually see where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the coils start. In spite of the soft foam uppermost layers, this bed is impressively supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of pocketed coils in its core. It is very easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am wellsupported when I lie on the edge, a great plus for sleep spouses.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, helping to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which normally trap heat, are infused with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This bed is a good fit for those who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a resting feeling that is wonderfully cool.

Off-Gassing

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to have a temporary smell when it’s opened. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You can anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should dissipate right away.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest offers a 100 night sleep trial on the Alexander Signature Hybrid. The company requires that you keep the mattress for at least 30 days prior to initiating a return. If you are not pleased with the bed for any reason at any stage between 30 to 100 nights, you can agree to donate or return it for a full refund of the price. Any delivery expenses are non-refundable. If you choose to go the refund route, the organization will arrange for the mattress to be picked up and donated to a local charity. You’lll just have to give evidence that the bed has indeed been picked up and the company will issue you a complete refund. Nest Alexander Vs Brooklyn Bedding

Nest Bedding Guarantee

The Alexander Signature Hybrid, together with the other Nest mattresses, are covered by a limited lifetime guarantee. The warranty is non-prorated, which means the company will pay to replace or fix any faulty mattresses, no matter how old it is. In addition to the lifetime warranty, Nest also offers what they call a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, which is pretty exceptional. Basically, once the trial period ends, if you suddenly decide you don’t like the mattress, the company permits you to swap the product for a softer, firmer, larger or smaller model
