In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are great mattresses, especially at their price points.

The 3 varying firmness options of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The following layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a gentle feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people normally find they can get more hug and shape on plusher beds.
Hybrids don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam beds typically do, due to the fact that inner-springs permit motion to more easily transfer through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers help the bed absorb motion to a sizeable extent. When I tossed and turned next to my partner, you could not identify much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel it, but detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still displays great bounce.
In case you have mobility issues, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it hard to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will encounter some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you’d achieve with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the mattress’ supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not quite as dramatic as it would be about a typical memory foam mattress. This creates excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its perimeter. This gives a flat sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at providing that solid core you want. When I moved in various positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you could actually see where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the bed abruptly ends where the coils begin. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this bed is very supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils in its foundation. It is quite effortless to get in and out of the mattress, and I am well–supported when I lay on the edge, a big advantage for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The spring coils allow ample airflow, aiding to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to prevent this frequent problem. This mattress is a fantastic match for people who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of dispersing and isolating warmth, resulting in a resting experience that’s marvelously cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to have a temporary odor when it’s unboxed. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate quickly.
