The 3 distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic structure, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is designed to add airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people usually discover they can obtain more hug and shape on softer mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, because inner-springs allow motion to more easily move through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers above its springs. These foam layers help the bed absorb movement to a large extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my spouse, you couldn’t identify much movement in her body. She said that she could feel the movement, but detection was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still possesses great bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around in a reclined position may be difficult. Traditional memory foam often caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam top layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would obtain with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it is mitigated by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of the bed without too much work. While there is some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be about a conventional memory foam mattress. This creates excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support foundation of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to fortify its edges. This provides an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the edge of the mattress. The spring coils are exceptional at setting that firm core you require. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I can feel and you could actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the bed suddenly ends where the spring coils begin. In spite of the plush foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils in its foundation. It is super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lay on the border, a big plus for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, aiding to reduce body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are treated with cooling gel and copper to prevent this common problem. This bed is a good pick for those who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of dispersing and isolating heat, resulting in a sleeping experience that is marvelously cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary odor when it’s unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You should expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate quickly.
