Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness levels. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant features a comfort layer built with soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This variant is more expensive because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ uses a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support center.
In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The three varying firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general construction, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a soft feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people usually discover they can get more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, due to the fact that inner-springs allow motion to more easily transfer through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its springs. These layers aid the bed absorb movement to a significant extent. As soon as I moved next to my colleague, you could not see much motion in her body. She mentioned that she could feel the movement, but detection was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still possesses great bounce.
In case you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position can be hard. Classic memory foam often caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You may encounter some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam top layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you’d achieve with a more traditional memory foam bed as it’s mitigated by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. This means you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of bed without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as dramatic as it would be on a normal memory foam bed. This creates great pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This produces an even sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the perimeter of the bed. The inner-spring coils are great at setting that solid foundation you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the mattress abruptly ends where the spring coils start. Despite the soft foam top layers, this bed is quite supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils in its foundation. It is very easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the border, a big asset for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The spring coils permit sufficient airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are treated with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This bed is a great match for those who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing heat, leading to a resting feeling that’s wonderfully cool.
Nest Bedding Alexander Hybrid Review
Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should dissipate fast.
