Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option features a comfort layer made from soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more expensive because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ variants go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The three different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with somewhat different foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is made to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This offers a soft feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is crucial on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally discover they can obtain more hug and shape on plusher beds.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds usually do, because inner-springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its springs. These foam layers aid the mattress absorb movement to a sizeable extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my colleague, you couldn’t identify much motion in her body. She mentioned that she could feel the movement, but it was minimal. Despite this, the bed still exhibits good bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down can be hard. Traditional memory foam usually caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will encounter some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you’d obtain with a more traditional memory foam bed as it is reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the bed without too much effort. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its perimeter. This provides an even sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the edge of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are excellent at providing that solid foundation you require. When I moved in various positions, I felt fairly well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the mattress ends where the spring coils start. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this bed is extremely supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils in its base. It is quite easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a great benefit for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The spring coils permit adequate airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This bed is a good fit for people who want to sleep cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing heat, leading to a sleeping experience that’s wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary odor when it’s unboxed. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate right away.
