In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are exceptional mattresses, especially at their price points.

The three different firmness options of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each mattress begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to add airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This gives a gentle texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally find they can achieve more hug and contour on softer beds.
Hybrids do not isolate movement as well as all-foam beds typically do, because springs allow movement to more easily move through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. When I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you could not see much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, although it was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still displays impressive bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Traditional memory foam usually caused a lot of sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would obtain with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it is mitigated by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. This means you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be on a typical memory foam mattress. This creates excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This provides an even sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging at the perimeter of the bed. The spring coils are great at setting that firm core you want. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the bed ends where the coils begin. Despite the plush foam uppermost layers, this mattress is extremely supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils at its base. It is very easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big benefit for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit adequate airflow, helping to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are infused with copper and cooling gel to offset this common problem. This mattress is a fantastic match for those who need to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing heat, resulting in a resting experience that’s marvelously cool.

Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should dissipate fast.
