In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are exceptional mattresses, especially at their price points.

The 3 different firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with slightly different densities and foams. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s intended to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people usually find they can achieve more hug and shape on softer beds.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses typically do, due to the fact that springs allow motion to more easily move through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its springs. These foam layers aid the mattress absorb movement to a sizeable extent. When I moved next to my spouse, you couldn’t see much movement in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, but detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still exhibits impressive bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down may be hard. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will encounter some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would achieve with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of bed without too much problem. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not quite as striking as it would be about a typical memory foam mattress. This makes for great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its perimeter. This provides an even sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the edge of the bed. The spring coils are great at providing that firm core you want. When I moved in various positions, I felt fairly well-supported. I can feel and you could actually see where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the mattress ends where the inner-spring coils start. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils in its base. It is quite effortless to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a great plus for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The spring coils permit sufficient airflow, assisting to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are treated with copper and cooling gel to prevent this frequent issue. This bed is a fantastic fit for people who want to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that is marvelously cool.

Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary smell when it’s opened. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate quickly.
