Additionally, the Latex Mattress is available in 3 firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option has a comfort layer built with soft Dunlop latex, as well as a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This variant is more expensive because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ uses a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ has a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support center.
In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially at their price points.

The three different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with somewhat different foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to increase airflow and helps with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This provides a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people usually find they can get more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, due to the fact that inner-springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These layers help the bed absorb motion to a significant extent. When I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you could not identify much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, although it was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still features great bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around in a reclined position can be difficult. Traditional memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would achieve with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it’s mitigated by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of bed without too much effort. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not quite as striking as it would be about a conventional memory foam mattress. This creates exceptional pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to fortify its perimeter. This produces a flat sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that firm base you need. When I moved in various positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the spring coils begin. Despite the plush foam top layers, this mattress is very supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils at its foundation. It is very easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big asset for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit sufficient airflow, assisting to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which normally trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to counteract this common issue. This bed is a good match for those who want to rest cool. This hybrid does a great job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a resting experience that’s wonderfully cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to emit a temporary odor when it is opened. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should dissipate right away.
