In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are great mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same basic structure, but with slightly different foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s designed to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally find they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, because inner-springs permit motion to more easily move across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its springs. These foam layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my colleague, you couldn’t identify much movement in her body. She said that she could feel it, although it was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still displays good bounce.
If you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position can be hard. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may face some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would achieve with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much effort. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not as dramatic as it would be about a normal memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This provides an even sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are great at providing that firm base you require. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you could actually witness where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the coils begin. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this mattress is extremely supportive, due to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils at its core. It is quite easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a big plus for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are infused with cooling gel and copper to prevent this frequent issue. This bed is a fantastic match for those who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a great job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that’s wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it is opened. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should disappear immediately.
