The 3 different firmness options of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic construction, but with slightly different densities and foams. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is designed to improve airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This gives a gentle texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people normally discover they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher beds.
Hybrids usually do not isolate motion as well as all-foam beds usually do, due to the fact that springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a significant extent. When I tossed and turned next to my partner, you could not identify much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel the movement, but it was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still displays impressive bounce.
If you have mobility issues, moving around while lying down may be difficult. Traditional memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it tough to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will experience some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam top layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would achieve with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support foundation of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its perimeter. This gives an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the perimeter of the bed. The spring coils are exceptional at setting that solid core you want. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the bed ends where the spring coils begin. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this mattress is impressively supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils at its foundation. It is super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big benefit for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, aiding to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are treated with copper and cooling gel to counteract this common problem. This bed is a fantastic pick for those who need to rest cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a marked box. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary smell when it’s opened. This odor is called “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should dissipate fast.
