Love & Sleep: The Love & Sleep memory foam mattress is built with layers of 2.8 PCF memory foam and polyfoam in the comfort layer. The support core is constructed from 1.8 PCF polyfoam. The Love & Sleep is available in two firmness options: Medium and Luxury Firm.

Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour: The Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour has a comfort system with 3 layers: a cover built with 2.5 PCF copper-treated, phase-change gel memory foam; a center layer of 3 PCF polyfoam; and a base layer of 4 PCF memory foam. Latex Mattress: The Latex Mattress is available in ‘Blended Latex’ and ‘Organic Latex’ options; the models have the same general composition, but vary significantly in terms of pricing with the Organic model being more expensive. Moreover, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ model features a comfort layer built with soft Dunlop latex, as well as a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more pricey due to the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ models go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.

In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are exceptional mattresses, especially given the price.

Construction

The three varying firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s designed to add airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This offers a pillowtop-like feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is based on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people usually discover they can get more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, because springs permit motion to more easily move across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers above its springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a large extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my spouse, you could not see much movement in her body. She said that she could feel the movement, although detection was minimal. Despite this, the bed still exhibits exceptional bounce.

Sinkage

If you have mobility difficulties, moving around while lying down can be hard. Classic memory foam frequently caused so much sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.

You will encounter some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you’d get with a more conventional memory foam bed as it is reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of bed without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its perimeter. This gives a level sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the bed. The inner-spring coils are exceptional at providing that solid foundation you need. When I moved in various positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the bed ends where the spring coils start. In spite of the plush foam top layers, this bed is very supportive, due to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils at its core. It is super easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m wellsupported when I lie on the edge, a big plus for sleeping partners.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow sufficient airflow, helping to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which normally trap heat, are infused with cooling gel and copper to offset this frequent issue. This bed is a great pick for those who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of isolating and dispersing heat, resulting in a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.

Off-Gassing

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a marked box. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the smell should fade right away.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest offers a 100 night sleep trial on the Alexander Signature Hybrid. Nest Bedding requires that you maintain the bed for at least 30 days before initiating a return. If you’re unhappy with the mattress for any cause at any point between 30 to 100 nights, you can arrange to donate or return it for a full refund of the price. Any delivery fees are non-refundable. If you choose to go the refund route, Nest Bedding will arrange for the mattress to be taken and donated to a local charity. You willl just need to provide proof that the mattress has indeed been picked up and Nest will give you a full refund. Nest Bedding Mattress Review
