In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially at their price points.

The three distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with slightly varying densities and foams. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s made to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This gives a soft texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people generally discover they can obtain more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, because springs permit movement to more easily transfer through the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers on top of its springs. These layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. When I moved next to my colleague, you could not identify much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel it, but detection was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still displays great bounce.
In case you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down may be hard. Classic memory foam usually caused so much sinkage that it made it hard to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would get with a more traditional memory foam bed as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. This means you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the bed without too much work. While there is some sinkage here, it is not as dramatic as it would be about a normal memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its edges. This gives an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the edge of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are exceptional at providing that firm foundation you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the bed abruptly ends where the coils begin. In spite of the plush foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its core. It is super easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big plus for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The inner-spring coils permit adequate airflow, assisting to reduce body heat. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are infused with copper and cooling gel to offset this frequent problem. This bed is a great match for people who prefer to sleep cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of dispersing and isolating heat, leading to a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This odor is called “off-gassing.” You should expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should disappear right away.
