Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in 3 firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option has a comfort layer made with soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more expensive because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are exceptional mattresses, especially at their price points.

The 3 varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general construction, but with somewhat varying foams and densities. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to improve airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a pillowtop-like feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people generally discover they can get more hug and contour on softer beds.
Hybrids do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses typically do, due to the fact that springs permit movement to more easily transfer across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These foam layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. When I moved next to my colleague, you couldn’t identify much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel it, although detection was minimal. Despite this, the bed still displays good bounce.
In case you have mobility difficulties, moving around in a reclined position may be challenging. Classic memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will encounter some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam top layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you’d obtain with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of the bed without too much problem. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not as dramatic as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This creates exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its perimeter. This gives an even sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are exceptional at providing that strong foundation you want. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the mattress abruptly ends where the inner-spring coils begin. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this mattress is very supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils at its foundation. It is super easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am well–supported when I lie on the border, a great asset for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit enough airflow, helping to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which normally trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to prevent this common issue. This mattress is a great fit for those who need to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that’s marvelously cool.

Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to have a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should disappear fast.
