Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option features a comfort layer made with soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more expensive because of the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The three varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same basic structure, but with slightly varying densities and foams. Each mattress begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to increase airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This gives a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people usually find they can obtain more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses typically do, due to the fact that inner-springs allow motion to more easily move across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers above its inner-springs. These layers aid the bed absorb movement to a sizeable extent. When I turned and tossed next to my colleague, you couldn’t identify much movement in her body. She detailed that she could feel the movement, but it was minimal. Despite this, the bed still possesses impressive bounce.
In case you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down may be challenging. Traditional memory foam usually caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you’d get with a more conventional memory foam bed as it’s mitigated by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not as dramatic as it would be about a typical memory foam mattress. This makes for great pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its edges. This produces an even sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that firm foundation you need. When I moved in various positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you could actually witness where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the mattress ends where the inner-spring coils begin. In spite of the plush foam top layers, this bed is impressively supportive, due to the 8 inches of pocketed coils at its core. It’s very easy to get in and out of the mattress, and I am well–supported when I lie on the edge, a great advantage for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The spring coils permit enough airflow, aiding to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap warmth, are treated with copper and cooling gel to offset this common problem. This mattress is a fantastic fit for those who need to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a sleeping experience that is wonderfully cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to have a temporary odor when it’s unboxed. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You can anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should fade right away.
