Additionally, the Latex Mattress is available in 3 firmness levels. The ‘Soft w/topper’ model features a comfort layer made from soft Dunlop latex, as well as a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This model is more pricey due to the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support core.

In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are great mattresses, especially at their price points.

Construction

The three different firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with slightly different foams and densities. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s designed to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a soft feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people generally find they can achieve more hug and contour on plusher mattresses.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds usually do, due to the fact that springs allow movement to more easily move across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers help the mattress absorb movement to a significant extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my partner, you could not identify much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel the movement, but it was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still displays impressive bounce.

Sinkage

If you have mobility issues, moving around in a reclined position can be challenging. Classic memory foam often caused a lot of sinkage that it made it hard to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.

You may face some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would get with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. This means you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much problem. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as dramatic as it would be on a conventional memory foam mattress. This creates exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its edges. This provides a flat sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are excellent at setting that solid base you want. When I moved in various positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you could actually witness where I really do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage from the mattress abruptly ends where the spring coils start. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this bed is extremely supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils at its core. It is super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am wellsupported when I lay on the edge, a great asset for sleep partners.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The inner-spring coils permit sufficient airflow, assisting to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are treated with cooling gel and copper to prevent this common issue. This bed is a great pick for people who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing heat, resulting in a sleeping feeling that’s wonderfully cool.

Off-Gassing

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your front door in a marked box. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to emit a temporary smell when it’s unboxed. This odor is called “off-gassing.” You can expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should dissipate quickly.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest provides a 100 night sleep trial on all their mattresses. The company expects that you maintain the item for at least 30 days before initiating a return. If you’re not pleased with the bed for any reason at any point between 30 to 100 days, you can arrange to donate or return it for a complete refund of the price. Any delivery expenses are non-refundable. If you decide to go the refund path, the company will arrange for the bed to be taken and donated to a charity. You’lll just need to give proof that the bed has indeed been picked up and Nest will issue you a complete refund. Nest Bedding Signature Hybrid Review

The Alexander Signature Hybrid, along with the other Nest mattresses, have a limited lifetime warranty. The guarantee is non-prorated, so Nest Bedding will pay to fix or replace any faulty mattresses, however old it is. Along with the lifetime warranty, Nest also provides what they call a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, which is pretty unique. Basically, once the trial period expires, if you abruptly decide you don’t like the mattress, the company allows you to exchange the product for a firmer, softer, smaller or larger version
