The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ models forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support core, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a soft Dunlop latex support center.
In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The three different firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same general structure, but with somewhat different foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is designed to add airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling cloth. This offers a gentle feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer mattresses while lighter people normally discover they can obtain more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually do not isolate movement as well as all-foam beds usually do, due to the fact that springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers aid the bed absorb movement to a large extent. When I tossed and turned next to my spouse, you couldn’t identify much motion in her body. She said that she could feel it, but it was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still features exceptional bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around in a reclined position may be difficult. Classic memory foam frequently caused so much sinkage that it made it tough to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You will face some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you’d obtain with a more conventional memory foam bed as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still have the ability to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much effort. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be on a normal memory foam mattress. This creates excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its edges. This produces an even sleeping surface across the whole mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the perimeter of the bed. The spring coils are exceptional at setting that solid base you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed abruptly ends where the spring coils start. In spite of the plush foam top layers, this mattress is quite supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of pocketed coils in its base. It’s super effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lay on the border, a great asset for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils permit sufficient airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which normally trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common problem. This mattress is a great fit for those who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, resulting in a sleeping feeling that’s wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to emit a temporary odor when it is unboxed. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You should expect to experience this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should dissipate fast.
