In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are great mattresses, especially given the price.

The three varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general structure, but with slightly different densities and foams. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The next layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s intended to increase airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam inside a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a soft texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in 3 firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people generally discover they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, because springs permit motion to more easily move across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its springs. These foam layers aid the mattress absorb movement to a sizeable extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my partner, you couldn’t see much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, although it was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still displays impressive bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Traditional memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it hard to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would achieve with a more traditional memory foam bed as it’s reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. This means you will sink, but will still be able to move around conveniently and get out of the mattress without too much work. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not quite as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam mattress. This creates excellent pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to fortify its perimeter. This gives a level sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are great at setting that firm core you need. When I moved in various positions, I felt fairly well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed suddenly ends where the inner-spring coils begin. Despite the plush foam uppermost layers, this bed is quite supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils at its core. It is super easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lay on the edge, a great benefit for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow enough airflow, helping to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which normally trap warmth, are infused with cooling gel and copper to counteract this common issue. This bed is a great match for people who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, resulting in a resting experience that’s marvelously cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to emit a temporary smell when it’s opened. This odor is called “off-gassing.” You can expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should fade right away.
