Furthermore, the Latex Mattress is available in three firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ option has a comfort layer made from soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more expensive due to the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ options go without the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are exceptional mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same basic structure, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to add airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This gives a pillowtop-like texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can pick between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer mattresses while lighter people normally find they can obtain more hug and contour on plusher beds.
Hybrids usually do not isolate movement as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, because inner-springs allow movement to more easily move across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers help the bed absorb motion to a large extent. As soon as I tossed and turned next to my spouse, you couldn’t see much movement in her body. She said that she could feel the movement, although detection was minimal. In spite of this, the mattress still displays good bounce.
In case you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Traditional memory foam often caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you’d get with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. This means you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the bed without too much problem. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be about a normal memory foam mattress. This makes for excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed experience.
The inner-spring coil support base of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its perimeter. This provides an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sagging and sinkage at the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are excellent at providing that strong base you require. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you could actually witness where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage in the bed abruptly ends where the coils begin. In spite of the soft foam top layers, this mattress is very supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils at its foundation. It is super easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the border, a great advantage for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is relatively cool. The spring coils permit ample airflow, assisting to diminish body heat. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are treated with cooling gel and copper to prevent this common problem. This mattress is a great pick for people who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of dispersing and isolating warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that’s wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary odor when it is unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the odor should fade right away.
