Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in three firmness levels. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant has a comfort layer made with soft Dunlop latex, in addition to a 3 inch Dunlop latex topper. This variant is more expensive because of the addition of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ models forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ uses a gentle Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ has a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support core.
In my opinion, the Alex Signature Series (memory foam) and the Alex Signature Hybrid are impressive mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general construction, but with somewhat different densities and foams. Each bed starts with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is made to add airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5 inches of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-infused Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This provides a soft texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is produced in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what works for you. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people generally discover they can obtain more hug and shape on softer beds.
Hybrids usually don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, because springs permit motion to more easily transfer across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb movement to a sizeable extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my colleague, you could not see much movement in her body. She detailed that she could feel the movement, although it was minimal. Despite this, the bed still features impressive bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around while lying down may be difficult. Traditional memory foam frequently caused so much sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its soft foam top layers. But this sinking feeling differs from what you’d receive with a more traditional memory foam mattress as it’s reduced by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of bed without too much problem. While there is some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for exceptional pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This produces a flat sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging at the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that solid base you want. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I can feel and you can actually see where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the bed suddenly ends where the inner-spring coils begin. Despite the plush foam uppermost layers, this bed is quite supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of pocketed coils at its foundation. It is quite effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big benefit for sleeping partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The inner-spring coils allow ample airflow, helping to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which normally trap warmth, are treated with cooling gel and copper to offset this common issue. This mattress is a fantastic pick for those who need to sleep cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of isolating and dispersing warmth, resulting in a resting feeling that is marvelously cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to have a temporary smell when it is opened. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You should expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should fade quickly.
