The three varying firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general construction, but with slightly varying foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s designed to improve airflow and helps with heat retention. Each firmness level uses 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam within this layer. The following layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5” of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a soft texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness level is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the firmest. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer mattresses while lighter people usually discover they can get more hug and shape on softer beds.
Hybrids don’t isolate movement as well as all-foam beds typically do, due to the fact that springs permit motion to more easily move across the surface of the bed. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These layers aid the mattress absorb motion to a sizeable extent. As soon as I moved next to my spouse, you couldn’t see much movement in her body. She mentioned that she could feel the movement, although it was minimal. Despite this, the mattress still displays good bounce.
In case you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down can be hard. Classic memory foam usually caused a lot of sinkage that it made it tough to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb rest.
You will face some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam top layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would get with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it is reduced by the bed’s supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of the mattress without too much effort. While there’s some sinkage here, it’s not quite as striking as it would be on a conventional memory foam bed. This makes for excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its edges. This gives a flat sleeping surface across the entire mattress and helps prevent sagging and sinkage around the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are excellent at setting that solid foundation you need. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt very well-supported. I could feel and you can actually see where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the mattress ends where the coils begin. Despite the plush foam top layers, this bed is very supportive, thanks to the eight inches of pocketed coils in its core. It is quite effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the edge, a big benefit for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The spring coils allow sufficient airflow, assisting to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap warmth, are treated with copper and cooling gel to counteract this common problem. This bed is a fantastic match for people who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of dispersing and isolating heat, leading to a resting feeling that’s marvelously cool.

After an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is manufactured, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and delivered to your doorstep in a box that is marked. Every time a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it’s opened. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You should expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should disappear quickly.
