In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are great mattresses, especially given the price.

The 3 different firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic structure, but with slightly different densities and foams. Each mattress begins with 8 inches of individually-pocketed support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that’s designed to add airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5” of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This provides a gentle feel.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in 3 firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can select between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight will make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people normally discover they can achieve more hug and contour on plusher beds.
Hybrids do not isolate motion as well as all-foam mattresses usually do, due to the fact that springs permit motion to more easily transfer through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These layers help the mattress absorb motion to a large extent. When I tossed and turned next to my spouse, you couldn’t identify much motion in her body. She mentioned that she could feel the movement, but detection was minimal. Despite this, the bed still features impressive bounce.
If you have mobility difficulties, moving around in a reclined position can be hard. Traditional memory foam often caused a lot of sinkage that it made it hard to move around. But if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may encounter some sinkage with the Alexander Signature Hybrid due to its plush foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling differs from what you would obtain with a more conventional memory foam mattress as it’s mitigated by the bed’s supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you’ll sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of bed without too much effort. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not quite as dramatic as it would be about a conventional memory foam mattress. This makes for excellent pressure relief without that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to fortify its perimeter. This produces a flat sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging at the perimeter of the mattress. The inner-spring coils are excellent at providing that solid foundation you require. When I moved in a variety of positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I can feel and you can actually witness where I really do sink in a quite a bit, but the sinkage from the mattress abruptly ends where the coils begin. In spite of the soft foam uppermost layers, this bed is extremely supportive, thanks to the 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils in its foundation. It is very easy to get in and out of the bed, and I am well–supported when I lay on the border, a big advantage for sleep spouses.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is quite cool. The spring coils allow ample airflow, assisting to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to counteract this common problem. This mattress is a fantastic fit for those who prefer to rest cool. This hybrid does a wonderful job of isolating and dispersing warmth, resulting in a sleeping feeling that is marvelously cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to produce a temporary smell when it’s opened. This smell is called “off-gassing.” You can anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate right away.
