Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour: The Alexander Hybrid Luxury Contour features a comfort layer with three layers: a cover made of 2.5 PCF copper-treated, phase-change gel memory foam; a middle layer of 3 PCF polyfoam; and a base layer of 4 PCF memory foam. Latex Mattress: The Latex Mattress is offered in ‘Blended Latex’ and ‘Organic Latex’ designs; the options have the same general construction, but differ significantly in terms of price-point with the Organic model being more expensive. Additionally, the Latex Mattress is offered in 3 firmness options. The ‘Soft w/topper’ variant has a comfort layer built with soft Dunlop latex, as well as a three-inch Dunlop latex topper. This option is more pricey because of the inclusion of the topper. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Firm’ models forgo the topper; the ‘Medium’ has a soft Dunlop latex comfort layer and a firm Dunlop latex support center, while the ‘Firm’ uses a firm Dunlop latex comfort layer and a gentle Dunlop latex support center.

In my opinion, the Alexander Signature Hybrid and the Alexander Signature Series (memory foam) are impressive mattresses, especially at their price points.

Construction

The three distinct firmness levels of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all use the same basic structure, but with slightly different densities and foams. Each mattress starts with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is designed to improve airflow and aids with heat retention. Each firmness level makes use of 3 PCF (pounds per cubic foot foam in this layer. The subsequent layer is 1.5” of either 2.5 PCF copper-infused “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The final layer is 1.5 inches of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The mattress cover is 1.5 inches of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling fabric. This offers a soft feel.

Firmness

The Alexander Signature Hybrid is offered in three firmness levels: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is measured on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is important on what works for you. Generally, heavier people fare better with firmer beds while lighter people generally find they can get more hug and shape on softer beds.

Motion Transfer

Hybrids don’t isolate motion as well as all-foam beds typically do, because inner-springs allow movement to more easily transfer through the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has various foam layers above its inner-springs. These foam layers help the bed absorb movement to a significant extent. When I turned and tossed next to my partner, you couldn’t see much motion in her body. She detailed that she could feel it, but detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still displays great bounce.

Sinkage

In case you have mobility issues, moving around while lying down can be challenging. Classic memory foam frequently caused so much sinkage that it made it hard to move around. However, if you have too much bounce, it’s easy to disturb sleep.

You may encounter some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its plush foam uppermost layers. But this sinking feeling is different from what you would achieve with a more traditional memory foam bed as it’s mitigated by the mattress’ supportive individually-wrapped coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still be able to move around easily and get out of the bed without too much effort. While there is some sinkage here, it’s not as striking as it would be on a typical memory foam bed. This makes for excellent pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.

Edge Support

The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid functions to reinforce its edges. This produces an even sleeping surface across the whole bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging around the perimeter of the mattress. The spring coils are exceptional at setting that strong base you require. When I moved in various positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you can actually witness where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the mattress suddenly ends where the coils begin. Despite the soft foam uppermost layers, this mattress is quite supportive, due to the eight inches of pocketed coils in its base. It is very easy to get in and out of the bed, and I’m wellsupported when I lie on the edge, a great advantage for sleep partners.

Heat Retention

The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The spring coils allow adequate airflow, aiding to diminish body warmth. The foam layers, which in most cases trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to offset this common problem. This mattress is a good match for people who want to rest cool. This hybrid does a great job of isolating and dispersing warmth, leading to a sleeping feeling that is marvelously cool.

Off-Gassing

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is made, it’s compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your doorstep in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it tends to produce a temporary odor when it is opened. This odor is known as “off-gassing.” You should anticipate to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, but the odor should fade fast.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Nest Bedding provides a 100 night sleep trial on all their mattresses. The company expects that you maintain the product for at least 30 days before initiating a return. If you are unhappy with the bed for any reason at any point between 30 to 100 days, you can arrange to return or donate it for a full refund of the purchase price. Any delivery costs will not be refunded. If you choose to go the refund route, Nest Bedding will arrange for the bed to be picked up and donated to a charity. You’lll only have to give proof that the mattress has indeed been picked up and the organization will give you a full refund. Nest Bedding Vs Ghostbed

Along with the lifetime guarantee, Nest Bedding also provides what they call a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, which is quite unique. Basically, when the trial period expires, if you abruptly decide you don’t like the mattress, the organization permits you to exchange the mattress to get a firmer, softer, larger or smaller model
